EXPERTISE

The new Patient Tower at Memorial Hospital is a 140,000-square-foot facility that adds 72 private patient rooms, an entranceway, waiting areas, reception areas and administration offices to the existing 425-bed hospital. Along with the Patient Tower, the project also included approximately 26,000 square feet of renovation to the existing short stay, lab, kitchen, dining, and chapel areas and 19,000 square feet of addition/renovation to the facility’s central energy plant. This included major upgrades to the existing emergency electrical system: two new 1500-kW generators and a 5000-amp paralleling gear that served the new construction and reefed existing critical and life safety loads. The project, completed in 2010, had a contract value of $7,677,000.
