The Gulf Coast Hospital is located in Fort Myers, Florida on the Gulf of Mexico and is owned by Lee Memorial Health Systems (LMHS). In late 2005, LMHS broke ground for the 400,000 square foot addition. The new addition includes a new emergency room, 22 operating rooms, 229 private patient rooms, 26 ICU rooms, 6 X-Ray rooms, 3 CT Rooms, 3 Cath Labs, 2 Angio Rooms, one MRI room and a large central plant that contains three 20 KW Generators with 19 Automatic Transfer Switches.
The hospital has been constructed with provisions for a three floor expansion in the future. Enterprise Electric, LLC started dirt work in early 2006 and when the hospital opened on March 9, 2009 over 200,000 man hours were exhausted. Enterprise Electric, LLC’s work force was mainly comprised of local workers from the southwest Florida area and headed by a group of veteran company employees with more than 75 combined years of experience in the hospital construction.
