Description
Halifax Medical Center is a 12-story new facility conjoined to the existing Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, FL. The new facility boasts the largest Emergency Department in the Southern region with 108 exam rooms, 3 state of the art trauma rooms, 4 cardiac catheterization rooms and 4 radiology rooms. The Tower consists of 180 private patient rooms with an additional 3 floors of shelled space for future use. Located in the new facility will be a new coffee and cyber café. The new hospital is equipped with a 4000A Normal and 4000A Emergency service, fully supported by 3 1250KW generators, with the option for 2 additional 1250KW generators. The hospital is 500,000 square feet with the Emergency Department floor area of 110,000 square feet. The Central Energy Plant is located 800 feet from the new Tower with an intricate duct-bank providing electrical and plumbing services. Halifax opened its doors to the public June 15, 2009. Halifax received the Eagle Awards from the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Associate Builders and Contractors.
